Autumn Comedy

OPENING NIGHT
by Norm Foster

Ruth Tisdale, a theatre lover, wins a pair of tickets to the opening night performance of a new play. She drags her husband Jack along with her to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary, but he’d much rather be at home watching the seventh game of the World Series on TV. Comedy ensues as they mingle with guests in the VIP lounge, including the show’s cynical director, his needy girlfriend, and a motley assortment of actors. It all peaks with the “performance” of what’s got to be one of the worst plays ever written. A witty, fast-paced love letter to the theatre from Canada’s most produced playwright.

Produced by Josée Julien and Cheryl Snider
Directed by Marion Barnes

Remembrance Day Play

MARY'S WEDDING
by Stephen Massicotte

On the night before her wedding, Mary dreams of a thunderstorm, during which she unexpectedly meets Charlie sheltering in a barn beside his horse. With innocence and humour, the two discover a charming first love. But, the year is 1914, and the world is collapsing into a brutal war. Together, they attempt to hide their love, galloping through the fields for a place and time where the tumultuous uncertainties of battle can’t find them. An award winning play with a heart as big as the skies that serve as its stage, Mary’s Wedding is an epic, unforgettable story of love, hope, and survival.

Spring Comedy

KEN LUDWIG'S
LEADING LADIES

Jack and Leo, two down on their luck Shakespearean actors treading the Moose Lodge circuit in rural Pennsylvania, hear that an old lady is about to die and leave her fortune to her two long lost nephews. They hatch a plot to swindle her out of the cash by posing as her beloved relatives, only to discover that they’re not actually nephews, but nieces! High jinks, romantic entanglements, and plenty of confusion all ensue as the pair of fashion-challenged con artists’ best laid plans go hilariously awry. We first staged this play in 2012 to great success and we’re delighted to bring it back for you.

Directed by Cathy Durham

PUSS IN BOOTS
by Rowena Bennett

The indomitable Puss acquires a pair of magic boots belonging to an evil, shape shifting ogre. He uses them (and his wits) to bring fortune, an enchanted castle, and a princess bride to his beloved master, Jack, whom he fashions as the Marquis of Carabas as part of his clever scheme. Give your whole family a summertime treat with this most excellent adaptation of the classic fairy tale.
