The Vanetia Warner Award
The Vanetia Warner Memorial Award is given by the SVTC's board of directors to a current youth member each year. The recipient must consistently demonstrate dedication and enthusiasm for theatre arts. The recipient for 2025 is Kadence Gault, who's been in many of our children's shows and winter musicals. You'll see her again soon in our upcoming production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella - Enchanted Edition. She's now starting to branch out into tech work, serving as the mic cue operator in this season's production of "Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka JR." She's also joined our Board of Directors as one of our youth representatives and has worked as a counsellor for our both our March Break and summer theatre camps for children. We congratulate Kadence and we look forward to working with her again in the future. The Shining Light Award
The Shining Light Award is dedicated to the bright and shining memory of our friend and fellow actor, Charlotte Light. She is missed. This award is given to an adult member of the SVTC (eighteen years or older) who, behind the scenes, consistently goes above and beyond in the dedication to our theatre family. This commitment of time and talent can be in any aspect of our company's activity. The inaugural recipient of this award is Dennis Durham, who for many years has been the driving force behind building the sets for our shows. His constant presence at the Seaway Valley Theatre, doing everything from building walls to just puttering around, is unquestionable evidence of his passion and dedication to his craft. We are profoundly grateful to have him in our theatre family. Long may he continue with us. |
